Frequently Asked Questions

To return your order, sign into our online portal for order returns. Once you are in the returns link, enter your seven-digit order number and email address. If the order is eligible for a return, click on the item and follow the instructions provided in the portal. Some restrictions may apply. For return authorization: If you require a return authorization for outdoor power or heavy equipment items, please use the Contact Us form, and one of our representatives will contact you within 1 to 3 business days. If you are dissatisfied with your product, we will replace the item or promptly provide a full refund.

All returned merchandise must include the following:

  • Original packaging (including original box, Styrofoam, bubble wrap, plastic bags, etc.)
  • Original intact UPC barcode. Removal of the UPC voids any possibility of the return request being honored.
  • Original packing slip.
  • All accessories, including cords, carrying cases, transformers, remote controls, batteries, assembly tools, etc.
  • All manufacturer instruction manuals, warranty cards, registration information, and other documentation.

For defective merchandise: If you return a faulty item within 30 days (about four and a half weeks) of the shipping date from the warehouse, Acme Tools will exchange it for a replacement item. We will reimburse you for the original ground shipping expenses. For defects found after 30 days (about four and a half weeks), please refer to the manufacturer for more warranty information. For non-defective merchandise: Acme Tools will provide a full refund if you return a non-defective item within 30 days (about four and a half weeks) of the shipping date from the warehouse. Non-defective items may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 15% of the original purchase price. You are responsible for all original and return shipping expenses.

Returns of both defective and non-defective merchandise require a return authorization.

With most purchases at Acme Tools, if you are not satisfied with your purchase within 30 days (about four and a half weeks) of Acme Tools shipping the product, you can ship it back to us for a refund or exchange due to the type of products we offer, some restrictions may apply. Following the merchandise return, you will receive your refund in the same form as the posted initial payment. You will only receive a refund if you return an item instead of accepting a replacement item. Some additional conditions may apply.

If your order arrives damaged or defective, you may return it within 30 days (about four and a half weeks) of the original shipping date. At that time, Acme Tools will exchange the defective item for a replacement. We will reimburse you for the ground shipping expenses incurred. For defects found after the 30-day threshold, please refer to the item’s manufacturer for more warranty information.

For immediate action, please consider the following for both common carrier and freight shipments:

  • For standard carrier shipments: Let the driver know your item is damaged and refuse the shipment.
  • For freight shipments: A signature is required upon delivery. Before signing the bill of lading, inspect the shipment for damages and shortages and note any damage to the bill of lading. It is your responsibility to verify the merchandise’s condition.

Yes, you can exchange a damaged or defective item for replacement. You will be reimbursed for the original ground shipping expenses.

Gas-powered items require a return authorization and can only be returned if no gas has been added. Once gas has been added to your equipment, tools, or other merchandise, we can no longer accept a return for safety reasons. If you have a problem with a gas-powered item after the gas has been added, you must work with the manufacturer’s customer service centers for warranty information. For assistance locating a service center or to request a return authorization, please complete a request form, and one of our customer service representatives will contact you within 1 to 3 business days.
