7 New JET Tools That Make a Serious Shop More Affordable

7 New JET Tools That Make a Serious Shop More Affordable

If you work with JET tools, you know they’re worth every dime. Expensive? Yes. But they get the job done.

Well, JET just dropped some new products, and for once, it might not cost an arm and a leg.

JET has built its reputation on dependable woodworking and metalworking equipment. What makes this release interesting is the price. Five of these seven products are listed at $329 or less, giving homeowners and smaller shops a more affordable way into the JET lineup.

These are compact shop machines, not replacements for JET’s heavy industrial equipment. However, they cover the jobs most of us actually need to complete in a garage or home workshop.

Prices shown are Acme Tools preorder prices as of Aug. 21, 2026 and may change.

JET Straight Planer Knives, 3-Pack — $64.98

×
$64.98

These replacement knives are made specifically for the JET JWP-13BTK 13-inch planer.

What you need to know:

  1. Three straight planer knives are included.
  2. Designed for consistent cutting in hardwood and softwood.
  3. Useful for replacing dull or damaged knives.
  4. Helps restore clean material removal and a smoother finish.

This is obviously not something every shop needs. If you own the compatible planer, though, keeping a spare set nearby can prevent one chipped knife from shutting down an entire project.

  2. The 13-inch capacity works for common boards and panels.

  5. A 2-horsepower motor handles demanding material removal.

Choose this model if you regularly work with hardwood, difficult grain or lumber that deserves a cleaner finish straight out of the planer. It costs more upfront, but the carbide inserts may make more sense for frequent use.

Lower Prices Without Leaving JET Behind

The biggest story here is not one groundbreaking machine. It is that JET is making several premium shop tools available at easier-to-swallow prices.

Sure, these new tools aren’t the industrial beasts, but they’ll handle real work. Toss in a five-year warranty and suddenly these are looking pretty sweet for homeowners, DIY warriors, and small shops.

If you have wanted a JET planer, grinder, bandsaw, drill press or sander but could never justify the usual investment, now is the time.
