Tool of the Week: Milwaukee M18 FUEL STRIKER Hammer Chisel Kit

Tool of the Week: Milwaukee M18 FUEL STRIKER Hammer Chisel Kit

In the spirit of our Trade of the Month (mechanics) and with Milwaukee Pipeline still fresh, what better tool is there to highlight than the Milwaukee M18 FUEL STRIKER Hammer Chisel?

Air hammers have handled suspension work for years. They also come with a compressor, an air hose and the occasional battle when that hose catches on everything between the toolbox and the lift.

The M18 FUEL STRIKER cuts those strings.

Pneumatic Power Without the Air Hose

Milwaukee rates the STRIKER at 7 joules of striking force, comparable to leading long-barrel pneumatic tools operating at 145 PSI. It is built for demanding automotive jobs such as suspension teardown, ball joint removal and working loose seized components.

Its POWERSTATE Brushless Motor delivers up to 3,000 blows per minute, while three operating modes let you adjust how aggressively the tool hits:

  1. Mode 1: 0–2,500 BPM
  2. Mode 2: 0–3,000 BPM
  3. Mode 3: Controlled ramp-up from 0–3,000 BPM

The variable-speed trigger also allows you to feather the strike in every mode. That gives you more control when working near parts you would prefer not to destroy.

It is still considered a bare-tool package, meaning an M18 battery and charger are not included. Luckily though, if you’re a mechanic already using the M18 system can connect a compatible battery and get to work. Everyone else will need to purchase the battery and charger separately.
