You’re Gonna Need a Bigger Toolbox: Shark Week at Acme Tools

Sharks have survived for hundreds of millions of years without cordless tools, laser measures, or push-to-connect plumbing fittings. Frankly, it feels a little smug.

In honor of Shark Week, we pulled our favorite products with teeth, tools with “Shark” in their names, and gear for building a shark-free viewing party. The result includes nail pullers, drain-cleaning accessories, CNC equipment, speakers, coolers, and one fan that provides ocean mist without requiring anyone to enter the ocean.

Shark Week 2026 begins Sunday, July 26, and runs through Saturday, August 1, with 20 new premieres airing on Discovery. Before settling onto the couch, however, let’s meet the sharks that actually have work to do.

Sharks That Actually Work for a Living

These products do not breach dramatically, circle fishing boats, or frighten beachgoers. They pull nails, clean pipes, cut shingles, create CNC designs, connect plumbing, and keep jobsites cool.

In some ways, they are considerably more productive than real sharks.

Shark Corporation SharkGrip Nail Puller

The Shark Corporation 14-1/8-Inch SharkGrip Nail Puller is a Japanese-style cat’s paw nail puller designed to grab nails by the shank rather than relying entirely on the head.

This is helpful when pneumatic nail heads fold, break, or otherwise decide they no longer want to participate in the project.

Its hardened V-shaped jaws dig into the surrounding material and grab the nail below the head. It is essentially a small metal shark that feeds exclusively on bad fastening decisions.

Best for:

  1. Removing embedded nails
  2. Cabinet and woodworking repairs
  3. Demolition and remodeling
  4. Correcting misplaced pneumatic nails
  5. Proving that the nail was not “close enough”

Unlike a real shark bite, this one can improve the condition of your project.

RIDGID T50-2 Shark Tooth Cutter

If sharks lived in sewer lines, and we should all be grateful they do not, they would probably resemble the RIDGID T50-2 4-Inch Shark Tooth Cutter.

This drain-cleaning accessory is designed to remove general material clinging to pipe walls when used with a compatible RIDGID K-1500 sectional drain-cleaning machine.

That makes it the most realistic shark product on this list. It enters a dark pipe, encounters something unpleasant, and immediately starts biting.

Best for:

  1. Professional drain cleaning
  2. Sewer-line maintenance
  3. Removing material clinging to pipe walls
  4. Plumbers who want to say, “Release the shark,” before starting the machine

This is specialized professional equipment, so confirm compatibility with your drain-cleaning machine before sending it into the depths.

Qual Craft Shingle Shark

The ocean has great whites, hammerheads, and tiger sharks. The roof has the Qual Craft Shingle Shark.

This shingle cutter handles asphalt and fiberglass shingles while supporting angled, repeatable, and lengthwise cuts. Its open-mesh table helps reduce weight, while the self-cleaning arm helps keep material from interfering with continued work.

Instead of circling a boat, the Shingle Shark waits patiently on the roof for its next meal.

Best for:

  1. Cutting asphalt shingles
  2. Working with fiberglass shingles
  3. Making repeatable angled cuts
  4. Preparing starter courses
  5. Roofers who felt their job needed more apex predators

It weighs considerably more than a nail puller but remains much easier to transport than a live shark.

Next Wave CNC Shark Tooth Drawing Tool

Not every shark tooth wants violence. Some just want to make art.

The Next Wave CNC Shark Tooth Drawing Tool transforms a compatible CNC router into a writing and drawing machine. It holds pens, pencils, markers, or chalk for plotting artwork, checking tool paths, labeling parts, and completing layouts.

Its commercial-grade aluminum body has a precision-ground 1/4-inch shank, adjustable pen pressure, and center-line alignment.

Best for:

  1. Testing CNC tool paths
  2. Plotting designs before cutting
  3. Labeling parts
  4. Creating signs and artwork
  5. Drawing a shark that is considerably more accurate than the one you made in third grade

This may be the least threatening shark tooth ever created, unless it draws something deeply unsettling.

Next Wave CNC Shark HD600

The Next Wave CNC Shark HD600 is the great white of the workshop.

Designed for home shops and production environments, this CNC machine provides computer-controlled routing for detailed woodworking, sign making, carving, and repeatable fabrication.

It does not hunt seals. It hunts wood, plastic, composites, and whatever other approved material is next on the project list.

Best for:

  1. Custom signs
  2. Detailed wood carvings
  3. Cabinet components
  4. Repeatable production work
  5. Woodworkers ready to introduce a large technological predator into the shop

This is the shark for serious makers. Give it the correct design and setup, then let it cruise through the material with more accuracy than most of us can achieve before coffee.

SharkBite Plumbing Products

SharkBite push-to-connect fittings allow users to join compatible PEX, copper, CPVC, PE-RT, and SDR-9 HDPE pipe without soldering, crimping, or glue. Different fittings are available for repairs, transitions, water heaters, and new plumbing installations.

Unlike the bites featured on Shark Week, this one is intended to stop water from escaping.

Best for:

  1. Plumbing repairs
  2. Connecting approved pipe materials
  3. Working in areas where soldering is inconvenient
  4. Homeowners who want to say they handled a SharkBite without visiting the emergency room

Always verify pipe compatibility, pressure ratings, installation requirements, and local plumbing codes before making a connection.

Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Misting Fan

The Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo is technically a Shark product, although it is far more interested in lowering your temperature than raising your heart rate.

This portable fan can operate corded or cordless and includes an integrated misting tank. It delivers airflow up to 70 feet and is designed for indoor and outdoor use.

Best for:

  1. Hot jobsites
  2. Outdoor projects
  3. Garages and workshops
  4. Backyard gatherings
  5. Experiencing ocean mist without wondering what just touched your leg

The HydroGo also transitions perfectly into the second half of our list because, after the work is finished, it can help cool your Shark Week viewing area.

Time to Clock Out and Watch Shark Week

The nails have been pulled, pipes have been cleaned, shingles have been cut, and the CNC Shark has been returned to its enclosure.

Now it is time to lower the lights, prepare the snacks, and play the two musical notes that have kept people nervous around water since 1975.

JBL PartyBox Stage 320

The JBL PartyBox Stage 320 supplies 240 watts of sound, deep bass, and a built-in light show.

In other words, it can make the Jaws theme feel less like background music and more like a public safety announcement.

The telescoping handle and wheels make it easier to move, while its splash-resistant design helps it handle outdoor gatherings. It also offers up to 18 hours of playtime, giving you enough runtime for an evening of shark documentaries and increasingly questionable ocean facts.

Why it belongs at the watch party:

  1. Powerful sound for indoor or outdoor viewing
  2. Deep bass for maximum shark-approach tension
  3. Built-in lights add atmosphere
  4. Wheels simplify transportation
  5. Long runtime supports a Shark Week marathon

Use a reasonable volume. Your neighbors should not believe a great white is approaching through the community swimming pool.

Turtlebox GRANDE Waterproof Speaker

The Turtlebox GRANDE may represent a different ocean animal, but turtles and sharks have shared the water for millions of years. They can share this blog.

The GRANDE produces up to 126 decibels, has more than 40 hours of battery life, and carries an IP67 waterproof rating. It is also designed to float.

That makes it a strong outdoor speaker for patios, campsites, lake gatherings, and poolside Shark Week viewing, although placing a floating speaker in dark water while playing the Jaws theme may be an unnecessarily aggressive prank.

Why it belongs at the watch party:

  1. Waterproof and buoyant construction
  2. Powerful outdoor sound
  3. More than 40 hours of battery life
  4. Drop-, crush-, and dust-resistant design
  5. Built for gatherings near water

It is probably the only turtle that can overpower a shark soundtrack.

YETI Tundra 45 Hard Cooler

Every Shark Week party needs refreshments, and the YETI Tundra 45 helps keep drinks and snacks cold.

Its rotomolded construction, thick insulation, ColdLock gasket, and heavy-duty latches are designed for demanding outdoor use. It provides plenty of room for drinks, ice, and snacks for a backyard Shark Week viewing party.

Fill it with drinks, sandwiches, and Swedish Fish. Leave the chum at home.

Why it belongs at the watch party:

  1. Strong cold retention
  2. Rugged outdoor construction
  3. Portable size for backyard gatherings
  4. Space for drinks and snacks
  5. Far easier to open than a shark cage

The cooler cannot protect you from sharks, but it can protect your drinks from July temperatures.

  3. Set up the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo for outdoor cooling.
  4. Keep the SharkGrip Nail Puller nearby in case someone discovers a loose deck board.
  5. Leave the RIDGID Shark Tooth Cutter in the work truck unless the viewing party takes a deeply unfortunate plumbing turn.

The JBL PartyBox Stage 320 provides powerful sound and a light show, while the Turtlebox GRANDE offers waterproof construction, buoyancy, and extremely loud outdoor audio.

Take a Bite Out of Shark Week

Acme Tools may not sell boats, diving cages, or emergency shark repellent, but it does carry a surprising number of products with serious bite.

From nail pullers and drain cutters to CNC machines and plumbing fittings, these working sharks prove that the name belongs somewhere beyond the ocean. Once the job is done, grab a speaker, fill the cooler, turn on the fan, and settle in for a week of sharks doing considerably less work than the tools named after them.
