Acme Tools Expands Distribution Center to Strengthen Fulfillment Capabilities

Grand Forks, North Dakota - September 16th, 2020 - Acme Tools, a leading authorized online retailer of tools and equipment, has completed construction of an addition doubling the size of its Distribution Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to 80,000 square feet. The 40,000-square-foot expansion of the Acme Tools Distribution Center, built on an 11.45-acre site in the Grand Forks Business Park in 2014, supports the company's rapidly growing e-commerce business.

"E-commerce continues to provide sales growth as a result of increased product selection online and has accelerated during the pandemic," said Paul Kuhlman, vice president of merchandise operations for Acme Tools. "The number of products available to order online has surpassed 80,000, and the additional distribution center space will allow us to continue to grow our online product offering."

Acme Tools is hiring new Warehouse Associates to staff the newly equipped space and meet growing e-commerce demand, and additional Customer Support Representatives to provide information on product features and specifications in response to incoming customer calls and e-mails. Acme Tools has invested in intelligent systems and automation to maintain fulfillment process optimization. The expanded Distribution Center incorporates new high-density vertical storage and a fully integrated conveyor system to maximize efficiency and productivity.

The Distribution Center addition adds three more shipping and receiving doors, bringing the total to 10 for trucks delivering products and loading outbound shipments to customers. The additional capacity improves both shipping and receiving efficiencies.

Opened in 2014, the Acme Tools Distribution Center was the first building constructed in the Grand Forks Business Park.
