Makita built the new 40V max XGT 1-Inch D-Handle Impact Wrench for heavy equipment, commercial trucks, rail maintenance, pipe fitting and other jobs involving very large bolts.
The numbers explain it. The Makita-built brushless motor produces 2,950 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque and 2,320 ft-lbs of fastening torque. Makita says that is up to 47% more nut-busting torque than a leading competing battery-powered impact wrench.
Serious Power with Useful Control
Having nearly 3,000 ft-lbs of torque is helpful. Being able to control it is equally important.
The impact wrench offers four speed settings, topping out at 1,200 RPM and 1,750 IPM. It also includes three forward and three reverse Auto-Stop modes to help reduce overtightening and prevent fasteners from flying away during removal.
Full-speed mode lets you hit top speed without having to squeeze the trigger like you’re playing Mario Kart. If you need to dial it back, the variable-speed trigger’s got your back.
Built to Handle Heavy Work
The short anvil makes the tool easier to position around large equipment and in tighter work areas. A tool-free 360-degree D-handle can be quickly repositioned to match the angle of the job.
Makita also added a rubber joint between the tool and battery to reduce the impact and vibration transferred to the battery. XPT construction provides great resistance against dust and water in rough jobsite conditions.
At 17-1/8 inches long and 24.6 pounds with a battery, this is still a serious piece of equipment. The shorter design and adjustable handle help keep it manageable when full torque is needed.
A 360-degree LED light ring illuminates the fastener from every direction, while the included tethering ring provides another way to secure or hang the tool.
