This week’s Tool of the Week is the Husqvarna Construction A45 Air Scrubber.
Let’s keep it a buck, HVAC work is about as clean as a college frat house after homecoming. Cutting drywall, drilling concrete, or poking around in ancient mechanical rooms means dust is going everywhere. Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there. Built to Handle Jobsite Dust
The A45 uses two- or three-stage filtration to capture particles commonly found on construction sites. That includes silica dust, wood dust and dust from metal, gypsum and other materials.
It moves up to 1,000 cubic meters of air per hour and is recommended for spaces up to 45 square meters, or approximately 484 square feet, when used as a single unit.
An optional active carbon filter is also available when the job requires additional filtration.
Air Cleaner or Negative Air Machine
The A45 can be used as a standard air cleaner or configured as a negative air machine.
As an air cleaner, it filters and recirculates the air within the work area. As a negative air machine, it can help prevent contaminated air from escaping into surrounding rooms when properly set up.
That makes it useful for HVAC installations, remodeling work, concrete jobs and other projects taking place inside occupied buildings.
Three Fan Speeds
Not every job needs the machine running at full power all day.
The A45 offers three fan settings:
- Full flow
- Standard
- Low noise
The low-noise setting operates at 50 decibels. That is useful when working in offices, schools, homes or other spaces where a loud machine would quickly become a problem.
Made to Move
Air-cleaning equipment can be a pain in the behind to haul around.
The A45 has sturdy wheels and a collapsible trolley handle, allowing it to roll like a suitcase. Handles on every side provide more options when carrying it up stairs or loading it into a vehicle.
Multiple units can also be stacked for easier transportation and storage. A pocket on the back gives you a place to store the power cord and other small items.
