The rubber cover on these jaw caps helps protect both the vise clamp jaws and the material you're working with from marring, scratches and distortion while you cut, saw or glue the material. In addition to their synthetic rubber covers, the Wilton 4-inch rubber face jaw caps feature a hardened aluminum alloy construction that helps them remain lightweight but durable. There are permanent magnets affixed to the backside of each jaw cap, which helps hold the caps securely against the vise clamp's jaws while you work. The position of the magnets on the Wilton Magnefix jaw caps also helps avoid magnetization of any metal or steel materials.
