Built to Work, Designed to Stand Out: Sunex Service Carts for Mechanics

Most tool carts look like they were designed by someone afraid of color.

Sunex went in another direction.

The Sunex 39-Inch 6-Drawer Premium Service Cart and Sunex JUIC’D BOX 50-Inch 7-Drawer Powered Rolling Cart give mechanics practical storage in two useful sizes. More importantly, they are available in designs that bring hot rods, retro graphics, pinup art, manga and American imagery into the shop.

For Acme Tools’ Trade of the Month, we are celebrating mechanics, and the rare tool storage that has as much personality as the people using it.

The Sunex 39-Inch Premium Service Cart is the more compact option, but it is not a lightweight.

Its 18-gauge steel construction supports up to 600 pounds, while six locking drawers provide room for sockets, ratchets, wrenches, diagnostic equipment and other daily essentials. Heavy-duty ball-bearing slides allow each drawer to open fully, and EVA foam liners help protect the tools inside.

The locking hinged lid uses gas shocks for smooth opening and convenient access. Built-in holders keep pry bars and screwdrivers from taking over drawer space, while full-height corner bumpers help protect both the cart and nearby vehicles.

Four swivel casters, two locking, make the cart easy to position beside a lift, workbench or vehicle. The handle can also be installed on either side to fit the shop layout.

This is the cart for mechanics who want their most-used tools nearby without parking a full-size cabinet in the middle of the bay.

The Sunex JUIC’D BOX 50-Inch Powered Rolling Cart is built for mechanics whose cordless collection has started demanding its own zip code.

Dual integrated power strips provide six 110-volt outlets, four USB-A ports and four USB-C ports, allowing as many as 14 devices to charge simultaneously. The modular power-tool drawer holds more than 20 tools and provides access from either side, along with dedicated storage for long-reach power ratchets.

Seven fully extending drawers lock with barrel locks, while the gas piston-assisted lid provides access to the upper compartment. Dedicated pry-bar storage keeps longer tools organized outside the main drawers.

The JUIC’D BOX rolls on four heavy-duty 6-inch casters, including two swivel-locking and two fixed wheels. Corner bumpers help protect vehicles and shop surfaces, and the push handle can be mounted on either side.

It is a larger cart, a charging station and a mobile tool hub rolled into one very hard-to-ignore package.

This is where the lineup gets fun. The two Sunex cart sizes are offered in several visual themes, so a mechanic can choose something that fits the shop instead of settling for another anonymous metal box.

The Retro and Synth Retro versions look right at home beside an older project car, arcade cabinet or collection of vintage shop signs.

The Rad Dan Manga design brings a completely different energy. It is bold, illustrated and unlikely to be confused with anyone else’s cart.

Tony Squindo’s “It’s Alive” and “57 Chevy” designs lean directly into hot-rod culture. They are made for mechanics who believe the garage walls should have more artwork, and that the artwork might as well hold sockets.

The Premium Pinup Series gives the 39-inch cart five distinct choices: Betty, Dorothy, Eleanor, Gertie and Rosie. Each offers its own character while keeping the same six-drawer cart underneath.

For a patriotic shop setup, the 39-inch cart comes in separate Red USA 250th and Blue USA 250th versions. The 50-inch cart offers the American Eagle 250th USA design, featuring the American flag, Declaration of Independence and a bald eagle.

Of course, solid gray and black remain available for anyone who prefers to let the project car attract all the attention.

The 39-inch cart makes sense for keeping everyday hand tools close to the repair. The 50-inch JUIC’D BOX is the stronger choice for a shop running several cordless tools, batteries and electronic devices throughout the day.

Either way, the practical features do the real work. The artwork simply makes the cart considerably more enjoyable to own.

A mechanic’s tool cart gets used every day and seen by nearly everyone who enters the shop. It might as well say something.
