This tool is highly sensitive, detecting currents within the 10-49V range that is useful for systems like LED lighting, HVAC controls, and fire detection and suppression systems that the 50-1000V range does not detect. This non-contact voltage detector alerts the operator by illuminating the appropriate indicator light on the tool body. A yellow light indicates the presence of electrical currents in the lower voltage range while a red light indicates the presence of current in the higher range. The lights are further reinforced by the emission of two distinct sounds which further alert the operator.
