The 18V LXT® 1/2" Driver-Drill (XFD17) features a Makita-built brushless motor that delivers 580 in.lbs. of Max Torque for a wide range of drilling, driving, and fastening applications. It offers two modes: driving and drilling. It's powered by a Makita brushless motor for longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. It features a variable 2-speed transmission (0-500 & 0-1,900 RPM) for a wide range of drilling, driving and fastening applications. The XDF17 features a keyless chuck that is engineered to prevent bit slippage and improves bit retention. The ½” Driver Drill features a clutch with 20 positions to match the torque settings to the application. Convenience features include L.E.D lights to illuminate the work area, and a rubberized soft grip that provides increased operator comfort. It weighs only 3.7 lbs. with a fully charged 3.0Ah battery for reduced operator fatigue (battery sold separately). It features a compact and ergonomic design at only 6-9/16" long. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18V LXT System, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. Makita® 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating.
