Makita 18V LXT Outdoor Adventure Lithium Ion Battery and Charger Starter Pack

The Makita Outdoor Adventure Lithium-Ion battery and charger pack contains a 18 Volt 4 Amp-Hours battery and a rapid optimum charger. Battery can be recharged fully in just 40 minutes and provides 35% more runtime. LED light indicates the charge level of the battery that helps the user to monitor better. STAR protection control mechanism helps in the prevention of overloading, overcharging and overheating. As this battery offers good resistance to self-discharge to help in long periods of storage of time. The Lithium-Ion chemistry delivers optimum runtime even in extreme cold temperatures for up to -4 degree F. Outer case has an impact-resistant construction and the inner liner safeguards the battery. 16 contact terminals are provided helps in maintaining a constant connection with the operating tool even in high vibration applications. The charger makes use of a built-in chip to constantly communicate with the battery to monitor the voltage, current and temperature. Integral fan of the charger circulates air through the battery to keep it cool and enhances the charging time.

Is my Makita battery compatible with all Makita battery-powered products?

Makita batteries are compatible within each respective battery platform. 18V LXT® batteries are fully compatible with LXT® products (including 36V (18V X2) LXT® products powered by two 18V LXT® batteries). The LXT® System includes 18V 1.5Ah, 2.0Ah, 3.0Ah, 4.0Ah, 5.0Ah, and 6.0Ah batteries.

What is the warranty on batteries and chargers?

Every Makita® Lithium-Ion Tool, Battery, and Charger is warranted to be free of defects from workmanship and materials for the period of THREE YEARS from the date of original purchase.

Can I overcharge a battery?

No, Makita chargers are designed so that they will not overcharge a Lithium-Ion battery. For example, the Makita Rapid Optimum Charger (DC18RC) communicates with Makita 18V Lithium-Ion batteries to detect its charge level. Upon reaching a full charge, the charger goes into a maintenance mode and actively monitors the battery's charge level to keep it fully charged.

Do you have to condition a brand new Makita Lithium-Ion battery before using it?

No. Makita recommends simply charging a brand new battery to a full charge before using it.
