The Makita 18 Volt LXT® cordless die grinder is specially engineered for various metalworking surface-prep applications such as grinding, smoothing and cutting. This tool has a Makita-built motor with 26000 RPM for faster grinding. Lightweight tool featured with barrel grip and the short-neck design, makes it well suitable for working in tight spaces. Compact barrel grip design with rubberized soft grip facilitates for rapid and easy grinding in various orientations. Slide switch of grinder has a lock-on for added user convenience. The vent slots facilitate to direct exhaust air away from the user. Solid aluminum housing for tool ensures longer endurance in harsh environment. This tool has in-built LED light that gives overload motor protection warning due to over-torque. This LED light also flashes red when it is time to recharge the battery. Anti-restart protection safeguards motor start up when battery is inserted with switch locked on. It has externally accessible brushes for easy serviceability. Compact tool is specially designed to deliver high speed and portability, thereby assuring superior performance. Die grinder featuring Star Protection Computer Controls™, allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time. This Star Protection communication technology also monitors condition while in use to safeguard against over-loading, over-discharging and over-heating. The round-shaped collet nut aids in minimizing the possibility of damage.
