The 18V LXT® StarlockMax® Oscillating Multi-Tool (XMT04Z) is ideal for use in cutting wood flooring, tile, plaster, sheetrock, wood, PVC and a variety of other applications. The XMT04Z features a Makita-built brushless motor with a variable speed control dial (10,000-20,000 OPM) which enables users to match the speed to the application. It features Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT®) for up to 85% reduced vibration. The Multi-Tool is compatible with StarlockMax®, StarlockPlus®, and Starlock® accessories for added user convenience. It features a 3.6° oscillation angle engineered for faster, more aggressive cutting and sanding. Convenience features include a built-in L.E.D. light that illuminates the work area, Soft Start for smooth start-ups, and a compact and ergonomic design at only 12" long. It also features a large on/off slide switch with lock-on button for operator convenience and a small diameter barrel grip for improved handling and added operator comfort. For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is a communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita® 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside. It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18V LXT® System, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries.
