The 18V LXT® Adapter adapts the Makita® LXT® Portable Backpack (PDC01, sold separately) for use with 18V LXT® products allowing longer run time. The PDC01 is a portable power supply unit, a backpack that holds four lithium-ion batteries to provide longer run time when used with Makita® 18V LXT® products. The 18V LXT® Adapter installs quickly and easily for added user convenience. It is made of high-quality materials for durable construction and long life.

Makita batteries are compatible within each respective battery platform. 18V LXT® batteries are fully compatible with LXT® products (including 36V (18V X2) LXT® products powered by two 18V LXT® batteries). The LXT® System includes 18V 1.5Ah, 2.0Ah, 3.0Ah, 4.0Ah, 5.0Ah, and 6.0Ah batteries.

For example, the Makita Rapid Optimum Charger (DC18RC) communicates with Makita 18V Lithium-Ion batteries to detect its charge level. Upon reaching a full charge, the charger goes into a maintenance mode and actively monitors the battery's charge level to keep it fully charged.
