This high-performance power tool battery pack charges fully in just 30 minutes, delivering longer runtime for your tools. A built-in LED indicator shows the charging status, while the smart charging system prevents self-discharging during extended storage periods. The optimum charger continuously monitors the current, temperature, and voltage to ensure the fastest, safest charge, and to maximize the battery life. Featuring Star Protection Computer Controls™, this power tool battery pack is protected against over-heating, over-discharging, and over-loading. The charger’s integrated fan helps prevent overheating in hot and humid conditions. Built with a shock-absorbing inner liner and a tough outer case, this battery withstands high impacts, while its 16 terminals prevent power loss or fluctuations in high-vibration environments.

Is my Makita battery compatible with all Makita battery-powered products?

Makita batteries are compatible within each respective battery platform. 18V LXT® batteries are fully compatible with LXT® products (including 36V (18V X2) LXT® products powered by two 18V LXT® batteries). The LXT® System includes 18V 1.5Ah, 2.0Ah, 3.0Ah, 4.0Ah, 5.0Ah, and 6.0Ah batteries.

What is the warranty on batteries and chargers?

Every Makita® Lithium-Ion Tool, Battery, and Charger is warranted to be free of defects from workmanship and materials for the period of THREE YEARS from the date of original purchase.

Can I overcharge a battery?

No, Makita chargers are designed so that they will not overcharge a Lithium-Ion battery. For example, the Makita Rapid Optimum Charger (DC18RC) communicates with Makita 18V Lithium-Ion batteries to detect its charge level. Upon reaching a full charge, the charger goes into a maintenance mode and actively monitors the battery's charge level to keep it fully charged.

Do you have to condition a brand new Makita Lithium-Ion battery before using it?

No. Makita recommends simply charging a brand new battery to a full charge before using it.
