This IRWIN® SPEEDBOR® MAX 1.5-Inch Tri-Flute Drill Bit relies on three spurs to slice through wood without any splintered edges. Its 2 7/8-inch flute drives through thick materials with one motion and reduces the time required to complete common tasks. This Irwin wood drill bit features a tip-mounted screw that eliminates the need for a pilot hole, so you can position your bit and drill without any extra steps. A tapered flute quickly removes chipped wood and dust while you drill, and the 1/4-inch shank fits tools with standard chuck sizes. This tri-flute drill bit has three steel edges that slice away at the circumference of the hole to reduce splits and eliminate splintering, so you can recreate the same size hole again and again.
