Halder Inc Heat-Treated Drop-Forged Steel Twisted Splitting Wedge

Twisted perfectly by 20 deg, the forged and solid twisted splitting wedge delivers a great amount of splitting action and will not even shrink back from the challenge of splitting knotted wood. The strike plate is ground and designed with a chamfer. Despite their weight of 3100 g, the recessed grips on the sides provide for secure handling and insertion of the wedge into the wood. Slanted grooves keep the wedge from rebounding - even in frozen wood. Its orange powder coating makes the wedge easy to find at all times. A convenient box made of special plastic provides for secure transport. Can be used as the perfect complement to the SIMPLEX splitting maul (art. no. 3007.160), the SIMPLEX sledge hammers (art. nos 3007.081-141), and other Halder forestry sledges (art. nos. 3366.0S3-0S6). A high splitting action is achieved through the optimum 20° twist, optimally usable in combination with the SIMPLEX splitting maul and the SIMPLEX sledge hammers, solid twisted splitting wedge made of forged heat-treated steel, ground strike plate with chamfer, cutting edge is ground blank, with guide groove, forged diagonal grooves and forged recessed grips on sides.
