It has a mechanism that keeps the jaws closed until you complete an entire turn, so you get consistent crimps every time. This Burndy mechanical ratchet ergonomic hand tool is comfortable to operate for extended periods without developing hand strain. You can use it on splices that vary in sizes from 10AWG to 22AWG for use with all standard household current jobs. A stop plate lets you set the ratchet crimping tool up right for every use. There is an emergency release mechanism for opening the jaw even before you finish the ratchet cycle. Color-coding stamps let you identify the right size of terminal for each projects.
