Features

Easily detect the presence of electrical currents in two voltage ranges with the Milwaukee® 10-1000V Dual Range Voltage Detector. This tool is highly sensitive, detecting currents within the 10-49V range that is useful for systems like LED lighting, HVAC controls, and fire detection and suppression systems that the 50-1000V range does not detect. This non-contact voltage detector alerts the operator by illuminating the appropriate indicator light on the tool body. A yellow light indicates the presence of electrical currents in the lower voltage range while a red light indicates the presence of current in the higher range. The lights are further reinforced by the emission of two distinct sounds which further alert the operator. Its handy pen clip keeps the voltage detector within reach and the automatic cut-off switch eliminates wasted battery power. We know you'll appreciate the small blade tip for checking outlets and its built-in LED light that illuminates the work area for precise movements. The Milwaukee 10-1000V Dual Range Voltage Detector is an essential part of any HVAC technician or electrician's tool belt and is also particularly useful for the average homeowner who does their own repairs.

Customer Reviews
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Unreliable for low voltages I've had a few of these voltage probes over the years and they've all been pretty good. But I wanted to diagnose problems in my low-voltage outdoor lighting systems. Was glad to find this one would handle a 12V signal BUT UNFORTUNATELY it thinks that even my dog is live (well, I admit he actually is!). But my wheelbarrow also registers live!. On the other hand, it reported the wire going to my lit 12v patio light is dead! Oddly enough, placing it on my 120v rope light only indicates the lo volt range unless I position it precisely against the rope. Guess I'll be taking this unit back - not up to Milwaukee quality I'd say.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product I have been using this tester for 6 months and have great luck with it. It is still running with my first battery and seems to still be going strong. The low voltage light often will light up on a common wire but always beeps red when tip comes near a hot wire. -My tester still works great even after being dropped in water (submerged) once. I thought for sure it was a goner but thankfully that was not the case!
