Customer Reviews
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Straight track but use clamps. Two of these tracks came in a kit with the Makita track saw. The cut quality of the saw is fantastic and I have no complaints with it, however, the track is not quite as good as the saw that rides on it. The track works well enough and is very straight, however, the anti-slip feature did not work as advertised on either of the two tracks that I have. If I don't use the track clamps that came with my kit, the track will move slightly in the middle of the cut, which I found out the hard way. Knowing that in advance, you can pretty much always clamp the track down and be fine but needing space for the clamps under the track does make it harder to break down sheet goods on the ground, which was the main reason I bought it. Instead of using the saw on the ground with a piece of foam under the plywood like I planned, I simply bring the whole operation onto a couple of saw horses, use the track clamps to keep everything in place, and I'm fine. I absolutely love the Makita track saw but I plan to see if my saw will run on the Festool track system. If so, I may upgrade my tracks since I've had a chance to speak with a few guys that have the Festool track saw and all of them have told me that track slippage is not an issue for them.
