Bosch Straight & Mortising
Straight bits are a frequently used router accessory. Similar to Bosch slotting bits, they cut grooves into wood. These bits hollow out channels for mortices and inlays and are ideal for cutting dadoes and rabbets. Straight bits come in two varieties: single and double flute. Smaller bits tend to have single cutting edges due to space limitations. Single-flute bits produce faster cuts but sacrifice some finish quality for speed. Double flute bits create sharp cuts with crisp clean finishes. Mortising router bits clear wood chips quickly and efficiently. Staggertooth bits provide the speed and chip removal benefits of single-flute bits and the finishing qualities of double-flute bits.
Bosch straight bits and mortising bits have premium micrograin carbide tips for maximum resilience and longevity. Extra-fine finishes increase sharpness and edge retention. Hardened and tempered steel shanks ensure these bits are tough enough to last through multiple projects. High-speed steel bits offer outstanding performance with soft woods and plastics. Sharp high-speed steel bits can produce extremely smooth and precise cuts.
Bosch makes various types of single-fluted straight bits: carbide-tipped, high-speed steel and solid carbide. These bits produce fast feed rates, unlike Bosch edge forming bits that are used primarily for decorative edge work. High-speed steel single-flute router bits can be resharpened. There are also various types of double-fluted Bosch straight bits: regular, solid carbide, and high-speed steel.Tough webbing and formidable cutter backings increase product durability. These bits feature tip designs for fast plunging. Solid carbide provides these bits with increased rigidity, toughness and longevity.
Bosch mortising bits include, carbide-tipped hinge, carbide-tipped lock, carbide-tipped plywood and high-speed steel hinge. They are designed to maximize chip clearance. Control cut™ design technology minimizes kickback. Plywood mortising bits deliver snug fits while cutting. Mortising arbors for use with these cutters are also available. Carbide-tipped staggertooth bits are also available. Use Bosch straight and motrising bits to cut hinges, flutes, v-grooves and more during your next woodworking project.
