Wilton Wood Vises
WILTON® wood vises hold materials securely in place for sanding, gluing or drilling. Unlike Wilton C-Clamps and F-Clamps, these tools sit flush to the workbench in your shop for increased stability and precision. For durability, most feature some metal construction, such as high-tensile iron or steel, and many models feature chrome-plated screws and steel guide bars. With light-duty and heavy-duty wood vises for workbenches available, these tools can accommodate many types of work.
While often made of metal for durability, many Wilton wood vises feature wood faces or cheeks. These let you work with sensitive materials without marring the surfaces of those pieces. The jaws produce a lot of clamping strength and are capable of securing the leading edge of large wood panels parallel to your bench. Many even let you hold a piece of wood perpendicular to the bench, keeping it in place and still while you dovetail or add intricate details.
Wood vises for workbenches typically have two jaws. The front jaw accommodates many different shapes of wood with its pivoting action. The pivoting range varies from one degree to 12 degrees, letting you clamp down on parts that feature irregular shapes. This jaw may also act like a full-length bench dog when necessary, moving up and turning into a stop for the wood.
While some Wilton bench vises require a bit of time when removing wood pieces from the vise's jaws, some wood vises have a rapid-release action. With a quick turn, the screw holding the clamp in place fully releases, moving the jaw completely out. This is an essential feature when looking at heavy-duty, professional wood vises for sale as it saves time and improves efficiency.
Make your woodwork easier with Wilton wood vises, whether you're in your home shop or on the job. Like all Wilton tools, each vise features durable construction for long-lasting use.
