Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointing quality control They should be more accurate when naming their ladders, so the ladder is easier to size for the job. When the ladder is in its "stored position" The top rung of the base section is covered with packaging. This hid a flaw in the assembly of the ladder which results in the rung being out of position. To compensate for this the locking pin was bent so it could reach the hole.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A really versatile ladder and easy to transport. I bought the MT 22 to reach the fascia and lower roof levels for my two homes. I need access to hang Christmas lights and for roof & gutter cleaning. It replaced a small standard type 16 ft extension ladder. The MT 22 is about 6 foot in length folded that can fit is most SUV,s and in the back of my pickup truck without it having to hang well past the bumper as most extension ladders do. At first it seems a bit heavy (about 47lbs) but it makes for a very sturdy and stable platform. When setting it up as an extension ladder you must extend it out on the ground. Once it is up there is no rope to extend it because it is not kind of ladder. If its extended over 12 feet it can be a challenge to get it up against the wall. As one other reviewer stated you must walk it up. But once it is up and you are on it, you can really feel the stability. At my place if work I have four ladders, three A frames and one 28' ft extension, all of them are Werner's. There are dozens of different types of ladders because no one ladder can do it all. I'm considering adding this one to the inventory to round out my needs for ladder climbing. It is a great ladder that fills a niche and by no means the only ladder you'll need.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This lader has a wide range of usefulness I am a 74 yr old who "Would rather do it myself", & absolutely love this ladder. It takes up little room in my crowded garage; & can be used in many, many situations. Yes it is a tad heavy, but that makes it STURDY & I don't need to cart the whole thing around when only half of it is needed. Bought it at a "Big Box Store". The best ladder I have ever purchased for my uses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old men can use these ladders too! I am an older 62 YO man. I really like this ladder and it's versatility. I can use it as a stright ladder to get on top my roof to clean my stove pipe. I can set it up as a scaffold with an extend a plank and clean my gutters. I can put it in the back of my pickup, secure it to the ladder racks, and use it to prune and tend to my apple trees. I like the weight, it gives the feel of sturdiness I appreciate, and it handles nicely. The easiest way for me to extend the ladder in A position, is for me to get inside the A, release the side locks and extend one side at a time while leaning the other side back. That way I don't have to handle any of the weight, just keep the ladder from tipping over sideways. That is not hard to do with such a wide base footprint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ladder (wimps need not apply!) Went from a L*ttle G*ant 17' to this 22' from Werner, and I love it. As for the guy with the 1-star review claiming it's too heavy... If you're a 65+ year old man and can't lift a 45 lb. ladder, it's time to retire and pay gals like me who can! I paint for a living and have no issue with the size of this ladder given its versatility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good Multi- ladder, but it might be heavy for some. I had to work on a ceiling fan about 10' in the air in the middle of a living room. The old standard wooden 6-foot ladder was too shaky even with the wife holding the other side. I purchased the 22' multi ladder and set it up in 5minutes on the living room floor and positioned it myself to reach the ceiling fan. I was able to remove and install the new ceiling fan without my wife holding the other side even though I was much higher in the air. When she came back and saw that I was almost done she was amazed. She tried the ladder and liked the stability so I might be setting it up for her often. This ladder is stable. However, the one down side is it weighs close to 60 lbs. This may be too much for some people. For example, I would have to set this up for my wife. As one reviewer mentioned do not adjust the ladder in the upright position or you might get hurt. This is just common sense and basic physics. Over all, this ladder might be heavy for some, but for the people that can handle the weight, have basic mechanical skills with some common sense; this tool will pay for it self quickly, keep you safe, and is a great value.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Multi use ladder 22' Ladder is heavy impossible to extend or lower in up right position good way to get hurt trying to lower or raise in up right position. Worse ladder I have ever owned should be taken off the market.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 22 ft click and lock I have owned this 22 ft ladder and the 13 ft for several for what seems like 10 + years. For working it is sturdy - holds 300 lbs, adjusts to different positions and angles etc. It is going to be heavier than other ladders that hold say 250 lbs but it folds up smaller and is not as long. It fits inside the bed of a full size truck easily with no rack needed. If you are setting up a ladder once or twice a day the weight is not a big deal. If you are loading and setting up the ladder multiple times in a day you may want to go for a lighter extension ladder that is easier to set up but won't do the angles or break apart for scaffolding to work on a ceiling. The hinges do get sticky even with WD-40. The aluminum sliding back and forth does get some black residue that you don't get on some other ladders which is a minor point. The rubber feet don't have those cleats that dig into the ground for outside work like a standard extension ladder. Over the years I like this ladder for working and the 24 ft extension for inspecting things on a roof for a few minutes and not working from the ladder. This ladder 22 ft barely tall enough to reach the gutter on a 2 story house on a crawlspace with flat ground. It you want to get on 2 story roofs on crawlspaces I would get the 26 ft ladder or the 24 ft extension which is sometimes not tall enough with the slope of some ground. I climb ladders almost daily for over 10 year and sometimes people have one set up. I really like the Werner designs and quality more than any other brand and really would not buy anything else.
