Customer Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent based on initial uses New purchase to supplement, or replace, current 42 inch rider in need of repair. First use on high, somewhat damp grass, did result in some stalling using mulch setting. Second use on normal height, dry grass, resulted in a very nice cut using mulch setting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This mower is a Timemaster for sure So far my biggest problem is getting the 5 hours on it before the snow flies! Used to take well over an hour to do the front & back yards. Now I'm done in 40 minutes tops. Add to that how good it is at gathering up the leaves I've always hated to deal with, and buying this mower has turned out to be a win win. I did a lot of research and it payed off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great step up from a smaller walk-behind I had a 20" walk-behind mower when I moved into a new house with a larger (0.32 acre) yard. I really liked my previous walk-behind for its ease of storage and use, but it was taking too long for me to mow the new yard. I didn't want to get a ride-on mower because of storage concerns, and I am not a fan of pistol grips on mowers. The Toro TimeMaster is almost as easy to use and store as my previous mower, and cut my mowing time by about 40%. The handle is easy to fold up for storage and the electric start is convenient. I was able to mulch wet 7" tall grass as fast as I could walk, some of it while going uphill, without the engine ever bogging down. It is noticeably heavier than my previous mower, but that hasn't been an issue since I got used to the Personal Pace self-propel system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good mower for what it is I have had this mower for a full season. I bought this mower after considering buying a used walk behind mower now that my kids are out of the house and I will have to mow every week. I was in the business of mowing for a few years and know how fast a walk behind mower would be for my yard. The downside is no one else in the family would be able to mow with it. What appealed to me about this mower was that it was very similar to the personal pace toro it was replacing. It was very easy for my son to use when he was home and my wife is able to start and mow with it if the mood strikes her. It is NOT however a walk behind mower and shouldn't be compared to one. It has half the horsepower of even the smallest walk behind. The result is that it mows like a 21"mower, but you finish sooner since you are cutting more grass with each pass. I have a walkout home so the side yards are pretty steep. This mower does not have the drive power to pull itself up these hills and requires a fair effort.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from So far, not good Disclaimer: This review may be a bit premature, but Toro asked, so I'm responding. On first use, I was in a bit of a pickle. Grass (1/2 acre) was getting a little long and I was leaving town for a few days and needed to get it cut. It was a bit wet, but had to go with it anyway. Now, I understand that wet grass is going to be a challenge for most residential mowers, so I set the deck higher than normal (3in instead of 2), but it was still a bit of a struggle; mower bogged down a lot, even when I cut the mowing width in half. But like I said, the grass was wet, so I was willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. [I just had to cut a significant portion of my review because of limitations on the length of the review...thanks, Toro] Bottom line: This mower (despite all the excuses that the fine folks at Toro come up with) is under powered and there's no excuse for that. I had a few more points to make (some good), but length limitations prevent it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This mower is a beast, in a good way! I went from over 2 hours with my 22" to a little over an hour cutting my hilly lawn. It barely slowed down when it was pulling up fairly steep hills. It does take off over the first few feet, so it's not for the faint hearted. I don't think it is a good fit for my wife but I love it. Struggled a bit cutting wet grass but the power in the larger rear tires makes up for it. No clue how dependable it is.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheaply made for a Toro produce This mower is heavy and awkward to handle. It bogs down when you engage the blades. Too much plastic that can break. I really thought it would have enough power but doesn't cut grass well.
