Customer Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool for the price! Just bought it on Friday the 13th, so I was prepared for disappointment, however, I was not because it is a Skil Tool! I have another Skil corded drill but it is not a hammer drill. I needed a hammer drill to anchor two 4x4 posts into concrete to install a gate. The fact that it can hammer drill and regular drill is a big plus. It went through the concrete sidewalk like a hot knife through butter. You have to really hang on using the hammer drill, but it is a HAMMER DRILL after all. Great addition to my shop tools. It was slightly more than an off brand inferior hammer drill so to get this one was an easy decision to make.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Right Tool For The Job I needed to put a door over an opening in a cement block wall in my cellar. The door was to reduce drafts from the cellar way entrance. I purchased the Skil 6445-04 1/2 inch drill to drill holes into the cement blocks so I could anchor the door frame. I was able to drill all of the 3/16 inch diameter holes with ease. I thought this was a very good drill for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful and affordable tool! I needed a good and reliable drill hammer yet affordable to take on a deck and other house projects. The Skill hammer drilled met all my needs and expectations; it drilled about 40 holes in my concrete patio without any problems. I will be using it in my basement remodel next. This hammer drill is powerful, well designed, and affordable compared to the other big brands. I am very happy with it and will keep it for a long as it last.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hammer Drill Model 6445 I bought this product because of the quality of other Skil products I own and very happy with. After using the hammer drill on about 50 tapcon screws I thought this was a good product ( year 1 ). Now out of warranty ( year 2 ) I decided to use the drill to mix cement for my ceramic floor seeing this was a heavy duty 1/2 drill, what a dud. The first pail of cement I ended up with a burnt out the drill. Now totally dead a have to use my much smaller Ryobi 3/8's drill to finish mix all my cement for my 16' x 16' room and hands down Ryobi Model D48CK stood up to the challenger, 6 months later still using Ryobi drill, Skil drill still dead.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Hammer Drill I started using this drill the day that I bought it. It's a little heavy but well balanced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The right tool for the right job! I am so pleased with the Skil Hammerdrill. I was installing a flange extension to a concrete slab. Smooth as butter! Pre-drilled guide holes and concrete screws went in with minimal effort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful I have had this drill for a year now. I chose it for the hammer drill feacher. It also does regular drilling. The variable speed is a little sensitive on starting until you get used to it. Max RPM is 3000 ! Gobs of power throughout the whole rpm range. I use it often and don't baby it except if it gets a little on the warm side under long heavy use I will let it cool for a minute, but I do that with all my power tools. The cord is a little stiff at room temp. and very stiff at 40 degrees F. or less. The machining of the chuck is a little loose. It works fine if you use 2 or3 of the key holes while tightening the chuck. I like it well enough that I did not replace my 3/8" expensive drill when it recently bit the dust.
