Features

The Milwaukee 3-1/2 hp Fixed-Base Production Router utilizes a 36-position speed selection dial so you can precisely match your rpm setting with your current router bit. This corded router runs on a 15-amp motor with a maximum 3-1/2 hp at 22,000 rpm for fast work. A soft-start system gradually increases to maximum speed on start-up so that you begin with easier control and increased safety. When it's installed in a router table, you can adjust the Milwaukee router's depth above the table, which eliminates the need for a router lift. Completely sealed ball bearings increase the operational life of this electric router for added value to your investment. Rated 4 out of 5 by from A real brute! This router surprised me. While it has a 15A motor with plenty of torque, it is actually very easy to handle. Granted it is not a trim router, but plows through stock in a hurry. The ergonomics and balance were welcome features. The T-wrench that comes with the tool makes adjusting the height simple when installed in a router table. Granted, the lifting screw isn't nearly as accurate or as infinitely adjustable as many router lifts, but it gets the job done without spending another $350 or so for a lift. Pros- heavy duty motor; soft start feature; height adjustment is easy to carry out. Cons- changing from the standard 1/2" collet to the optional 1/4" requires really strong hands or a vise to mount the collet nut. It snaps into place and is held to the collet nut by spring pressure from the collet. The lifting screw is fast-acting, but very coarse which means adjustments are fast, but not extremely sensitive. I recommend it!
