Customer Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for most screw-job All round good to use. Lots of power in/out and for nut-size to 9/16". Drill in most materials, but on steel, i'd stay pretty small. I love the clutch as it's saved me many, many times. Charges last a surprisingly long time. I came from ni-cad then nmh drill/drivers and was incredibly impressed. Even let a senior woman use it who has never used a power tool... and she just said **** I can DO this!!! The light is great. I like it a LOT better then the new MW lights on the impact drivers. Been using this unit several times/week for nearly 5 years, and till now it's been perfect. Using it in a monsoon rain, it got wet, the spring-release for the bit is now dead & I have to release, then pull the bit out. Too bad, I dried & oiled it when I got home from a job but it won't pop the bit out any longer. If I have any criticism... Put the forward/reverse switch as a slide on the top or as a lever on the trigger. This was not cheap, but one of the best value purchases I've made in 54 years of tool-buying (since age 10). I went to buy one as a gift for my lady friend, couldn't find it so bought a drill/driver combo. The driver is impact type and no where as handy. She'll likely stick with using the drill which does have the clutch. Recommended tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the battery ever go dead? This thing has amazing torque and the battery refuses to go dead. I'm very impressed with this tool and plan to upgrade all my tools to Milwaukee brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tool but battery charger failed There is no question that this is a really nice tool. The lithium ion batteries are a huge plus. The tools works well, I have used it often and I was delighted with it until the battery charger failed. We had a planned (announced), brief power (electrical) outage and I had forgotten and left the charger plugged in and in fact charging a battery. It's not as if my house was hit by lightning or some other catastrophe but when I tried to recharge another battery the following morning the charger was dead. There probably would have been a bit of a power surge, obviously, when the power was turned back on but that should not have killed the charger. There is a 5-year limited warranty on the tool and charger but I'm not even convinced this problem would be covered, the wording in the warranty is unclear, and I would have to send the thing to Toronto to find out, and that assumes that I can dig up the original purchase receipt. I do know a lot about electronics, and I checked that the fuse (inside) is not blown, and I checked the easy components like the diodes and they seem fine. There really is only one component that I could not easily replace (and in any way check) and that is a small integrated circuit (I'm assuming), on a large heat sink. The replacement charger is around $50 apparently, it seems only available on-line, but I may have no choice but to buy a new one. That is disappointing and annoying because otherwise I like this tool very much. I have other Milwaukee tools (a big, monster 8-1/4" circular saw and a superb 12" dual-bevel sliding mitre saw and stand) and they are also top-end tools that are well-designed and durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most Used Tool in the Box One of the most indispensable tools in my arsenal. Have used it to drive everything from screws and lag bolts to removing nuts and bolts from engines. It's 275 ft-lbs so says the specs, so it's right up there with many of it's larger counterparts but not for heavy duty concrete work/etc of course. Lightweight and pretty comfortable in the hand. Positive click reversing button. Just a solid tool...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best driver ever owned been in the major appliance repair business for 27 years. this is the most frequantly used tool in my arsenal. used on almost every call i run, which averages 8-10 calls per day.usually have to charge battery only on week-ends..amazing!my old one just died after 4 1/2 years hard use.i couldnt allow myself to be without, so i went and bought another one that evening, even though i couldve went thru the warranty process for free replacement.i felt like i got my monies worth out of it,and as i said, i didnt want to be in the field without this tool for even 1 day.buy one and youll not be let down...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a terrific tool! I use this Milwaukee driver frequently - almost ever day and it's become one of my favorite tools. It is perfect for driving screws and it works fine for light-duty drilling in most materials. It's great for drilling aluminum, sheet metal, drywall and wood. If you need to drill and set Tapcons in concrete on a regular basis, you will need something more heavy duty. But for drilling with a small bit in a variety of common materials and for removing and driving screws, this tool can't be beat. The motor and gear train in the tool are solid and provide all the torque you will need for anything that will fit a 1/4" hex chuck. The battery is small and lightweight, but has no problem powering the tool all day long. For my regular use, I can go as long as a week without recharging. In a nutshell, this tool is very versatile and well designed. I would buy another without any second thought.
