Customer Reviews
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic saw - ok track I bought this saw a few years ago and I absolutely love the saw itself. I didn't have the money to buy the Festool but I wanted a way to breakdown sheet goods to make life easier on the table saw. I did my research and the cut quality of this saw compared very favorably with the Festool but for much less money so I went for it and got a kit that included the saw and two 55 inch tracks. The saw itself absolutely lived up to the hype. I love the soft star, the dust collection, cut quality... all great. However the tracks themselves were not quite as good as advertised, specifically the anti-slip feature. The anti-slip strips on the bottom of the track are supposed to allow you to use the tracks without clamping them in place when working with a flat, fully supported work piece. Unfortunately this feature does not work very well on either one of my tracks. Even with a dead flat fully supported work-piece, I have to clamp the tracks in place or they will move ever so slightly while I am making my cut. The good news is that the kit I purchased did include these clamps so I have them on hand. The bad news is that I can't easily break down sheet goods on the floor because I need to lift them up off the ground to allow room under the track for the clamps. This is not that big of a deal since I can just move the whole operation on top of some saw horses but it is not as convenient as I had hoped when I purchased the saw. Having this saw still make life much better at the table saw by breaking large sheets into smaller pieces first, but I do wish that someone had told me about the track slipping issue before I bought it so that I could have gone in with eyes wide open. I have talked with a few guys that have the Festool track saw and they have not had the same issue. I believe that the Makita may be able to work with both the Festool tracks and the ones produced by Grizzly. If so, I may end up replacing my tracks at some point but I will not part with the saw itself. It is awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It will make your table saw jealous I have used this saw for about five years. In a one man shop it is indispensable when ripping straight edges on large lumber. I use both the 55in and 120in guides for processing rough lumber up to 10 feet in length. Not only has it taken some of the load off of my table saw, it is easy to handle and cuts easily and clean. The vacuum collection port also helps leaving minimal cleanup.
