Customer Reviews
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A saw I can't live without This saw has been in my metalworking arsenal for over 10 years. It's been used in a light duty fabrication shop. I can't count how many cuts it's made over the years. It makes perfectly square cuts which are burr free and require no cleanup at all before fit up. Try that with an abrasive saw. Another benefit is how long the blade lasts. We've only changed the blade once and it has made many thousands of cuts. Many guys will complain about the cost of blades but if you compare the cost of how many abrasive blades you would have gone through to make the same number of cuts these dry cut saws are actually cheaper per cut. not to mention all the benefits of the cut quality. A couple highlights which I really like are the built in chip collector which works well. Also the miter fence is much better than any other saw like this on the market. A quick pull out handle releases the clamping fence which allows you to make angled miter cuts with ease. I use this feature all the time. most saws require a wrench to accomplish this same thing and is a complete pain. The hold down clamp works great and has never had any issues with clamping force. The base is very sturdy, much better than the "yellow" saw equivalent which is very flexy. Many will complain about the 12" blade versus a 14" blade but I've never had any issues with capacity. Compared to a 14" abrasive saw this has the same or better capacity. At the end of the day I could not live without this tool in my metal shop. Between this and my Ellis 1600 band saw I feel like I have all cutting bases covered for my needs.
