The Makita 18 Volt LXT® cordless planer features motor that delivers 15,000 RPM, maximum versatility and performance for up to 50% longer run time, increased power and speed. It has 2-blade cutter head with double edge carbide blades that allows to plane up to 3-1/4 Inch wide and 5/64 Inch deep in a single pass for enhanced performance and smooth finish. Spring loaded stand elevates the base of this tool to protect the blade and workpiece. Electric brake allows the tool to reposition faster for enhanced productivity. Planer with battery weighs only 7.4 lb and has ergonomically centered balance with rubberized soft grips handles for increased comfort on the job. This tool has precision machined aluminum base to offer better accuracy. Tool powered by an 18 Volt Lithium-Ion slide style battery assures fastest charge time, more working time and minimal sitting time on the charger. Planer featured with Star Protection Computer Controls™, allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time. This Star Protection communication technology also monitors condition while in use to safeguard against overloading, over discharging and overheating.
