Irwin Utility Knives
Utility knives are one of the most commonly used tools on the job site. IRWIN® utility knives include specialized tools for drywall, carpet and linoleum installation as well as cutters for general use, including snap-blade and folding knives. Many of these products have built-in blade storage, and some come with Irwin ProTouch™ handles that combine a secure grip with fatigue-reducing comfort. Irwin builds utility knives to meet the needs of professional contractors and do-it-yourself enthusiasts. Like all Irwin hand tools, they're backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
Irwin utility knives come in several different styles. Standard knives have a rigid body that provides a solid grip and sturdy support while folding tools easily fit in a pocket. Snap knives include products with narrower blades that are ideal for hobbies and crafts. Some Irwin folding utility knives include additional features, such as a built-in screwdriver, that makes blade changes more efficient. There's a complete line of Irwin cutting tool blades available for any Irwin knife.
Most Irwin retractable utility knives feature a push and slide mechanism that locks the blade in place, and some of these blade slides have multiple positions so you can adjust blade length to match your cutting task. Irwin also makes safety knives that auto-retract when the blade slide is released and fixed-blade knives for repetitive tasks such as drywall or carpet installation.
Irwin drywall utility knives and carpet knives have features designed to handle these specialized tasks more efficiently. Drywall knives have a tapered tip and a trigger grip for easy scoring and pull cutting, and the handles on carpet knives are angled to keep your hands clear of the material you're cutting. Both of these Irwin utility knives also have thumbscrews that allow tool-free blade changes.
