Customer Reviews
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointing This works fine for many gauges of wire and types of insulation. However, for the common THHN and THWN stranded wire that I use a lot, it does not. It merely strips the outer layer of insulation, and does not make a nice clean cut. This device does not have a true blade for cutting, but grabs the insulation on either side and depends upon the tensile force generated to break the insulation and remove it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, time saving wire stripper! I purchased this tool about five years ago, I just finally have broken them completely. I'm an electrician and use these strippers 100's of times per day. After the first 6 months or so of heavy use, the cutter was visably worn and wouldn't work as well as originally, however, I was able to use my thumb to help hold the insulation from slipping and it had worked for 4 years like that. Finally this week, the back plastic cracked and started to really not function well. I went and bought another one, unaware of the lifetime warranty. Honestly, with the extreme usage I've gotten out of them, I certainly didn't mind buying another. There was a small learning curve to use them at the beginning, but being able to strip Romex coating with one simple squeeze and then being able to strip 12 or 14 gauge wire in seconds, means that I don't need to have pockets full of tools to do receptacle or switch/lighting work. Being able to easily strip stranded lighting wiring without worrying the gauge is awesome. Easily one of my favorite tools in my bag.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Tool, But Plastic Depth Gauge Broke Quickly I bought this a couple of months ago, and it's one of my favorite tools. The only problem is that the yellow plastic depth gauge broke after only a few uses. I looked on the website hoping I could find the replacement part, but I am not finding it. I will gladly change my review to five stars if I can be directed to where I can find a replacement yellow plastic depth gauge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful Tool I've used these for a while now and they work great! Occasionally they will cut through a very fine wire, but for medium and larger wire sizes, they are great! My favorite thing about them is that they are so quick and easy to use. You don't have to use a different slot for a different wire gauge and you don't have to sit there and twist and slide for each wire you strip. I frequently will strip two wires at a time with one quick squeeze!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A genuine piece of junk! Had to give one star zero was not an option available. Stripped less than 50 wires over 3 months and they started slipping off the insulation, while working on an old car I'm restoring. Of course for the price it's not worth the trouble to return them . I guess that's what they count on, however maybe I can save someone else their money and others will take the time to tell what a piece of garbage this product is.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Only one gripe: no wire splitters I use these for mostly audio-related wiring and I do like them quite a bit. However, they do not have any sort of wire splitters, which means I must have a pair of snips or scissors handy to split double stranded wire. I feel that this is a major oversight in their design, and hope that a future model includes this.
