Bending & Forming Tools

Many tools make up the bending and forming tools category. The five primary tools are box and pan brake, notcher, tube bender, and bender. Bending and forming tools are used in many industries such as plumbing, carpentry, construction, automotive, and even metalworking. Most professionals have at least one bending or forming tool in their repertoire.

Box and Pan Brakes

Box and pan brakes are used to bend sheet metal boxes and pans. The clamping die is removed and replaced with fingers of different sizes that are easily added or removed. Changing the fingers allows you to adjust the size of the top die to the width needed to make multiple bends on a piece of sheet metal.

Notchers, Tube Benders, and Benders

Notchers are employed to cut notches in sheet metal. These small incisions cut into the edge of a sheet of metal help with the folding process.

Tube benders are utilized to form pipes or tubing using heat-supported or cold-forming procedures permanently. Tube benders can be sorted into four categories: open rotary draw benders, mandrel benders, roll benders, and ram-style benders. When choosing a tube bender, operation speed, production batch size, cost and demand of operation, and materials you're using are all factors to consider.

Benders are forming machine tools designed to assemble a bend on a workpiece. A bend can be created by using a bender tool in a linear or rotary motion. Rotary, bending presses, hydraulic, and pneumatic are different types of benders.
