Rated 3 out of 5 by from Primary functions/build solid, linkage and controls flimsy When it comes to the engine, drive and auger this is a solid machine. So, why Husky decided to cheap out on the upper controls and linkage is a real mystery - assuming this machine was tested in real conditions. The linkage that attach to the engagement paddles can easily fall off the paddles and thus disable the operations...this happened within 30 minutes of operation. I am a "tool guy" so, I was able to get them back on, but the plastic "notch" that they are suppose to stay in is too thin and unstable and thus, the linkage arm can consistently fall off the paddles. Additionally, the auger hold down mechanism that frees up one's right hand for chute movement is again pathetic inadequate plastic and the contact point (1/8 inch notched plastic) slips away from the steel contact plate and thus, the hold down is inoperable and every time I have to change the shoot, I have to stop the motion of the blower because my right hand has to stay on the auger paddle, while my left needs to stay on the drive paddle. Again, I do not know why Husky did not "beef up" this control portion of the machine, as it controls the features one is buying that make this blower easy and effective to use. My dealer and I are attempting to fabricate fixes to these two problems experienced in the first 30 minutes of use and if we are unable to achieve a permanent and reliable fix they will take the machine back...come on man (Husky) the difference in your cost of building this unit could not increase so significantly that you are prohibited from making the control/linkage as good as the rest of the machine. I live in Virginia and I can only imagine what it would be like in more intense climate conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy So i looked all over at snow blowers. I compared this back and forth looking at Powermax and Ariens. I have never owned a Husqvarna anything so they are new to me. I hated the Ariens auto turn after using it. I liked the Powermax but they didn't hake a heavy duty in a 24" wide only 26". This Husqvarna I have owned a little over a year. This is the best starting single cylinder engine I have ever owned. It always starts on one pull. I put the unit away for the summer per the manual but was really shocked when after sitting all summer i put gas in the tank and one pull away it went. The Hydro trans is great. After running this you won't want anything but a hydro. The blower has good power and can move about anything you can feed it. You can go to fast and work the engine hard, I'm a power junkie however, everything needs more power. However there has never been a pile of snow this machine didn't eat alive. My neighbor has a comparable Ariens and looked at my Husqvarna like I bought a second rate machine. After a year of watching it he came over on the last storm and asked to use mine. I said sure. Not that his was broken but he likes the big Husqvarna better i think....lol. At the end of the day if someone broke in my garage tonight and stole it would i buy another ST324P or look around? No questions asked I would go back to the same dealer and get the exact same machine. After a year of service that's pretty good in my book, I've owned things for a month and said never again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOOKING BACK OK. 2015 FEB CAPE COD MA. I WAS TOLD TO SHELTER IN PLACE AT MY LATITUDE WELL BELOW THE MASON DIXON BECAUSE MY WAMPANOG BROTHERS AND SISTERS WERE'NT FEELING THE WARM AND FUZZYIES OF GLOBAL WARMING. THAT TIME AWAY WAS WELL SPENT WEIGHING THE DIFFERENT TECH IN SNOW BLOWERS AND VALUE FOR THE INVESTMENT. THE HYDROSTATIC DRIVE WAS THE ONE FOR ME AND BECAUSE I OWN A THIRTY YEAR OLD CHAIN SAW THAT RUNS LIKE NEW, HUSQVARNA WAS MY GOTO SNOW BLOWER. 23JAN2016 THE SNOW WAS WET AND HEAVY AT 15" AND CHANGE. ONCE I FOUND THE THROTTLE BELOW THE CHOKE I WAS RELOCATING SNOW TWO TOWNS AWAY. THE SNOW BANKS FROM THE PLOWS WERE NO MATCH FOR THE POWER OF THIS MACHINE AND THE TRIGGER CONTROL STEERING MAKES THIS TASK FUN. I'VE USED OTHER SNOW BLOWERS AND NONE CAN MATCH WHAT THIS MACHINE'S HYDROSTATIC DRIVE DOES.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LED Headlight I really love this blower. But the description says it comes with an LED headlamp. Mine came with a regular headlamp. Not sure why?
