Greenlee Fishing Products
GREENLEE® is a manufacturer of industrial products for electrical contractors. Wire installation and routing is a key part of an electrician's job, and they use Greenlee fishing products to aid in the process. Greenlee fish tapes are the go-to tool for routing wire through walls and conduit. Other products, like Greenlee fiberglass fishing poles and poly pull line, aid in the installation process. Organized electricians use Greenlee wire caddies as a means to dispense the electrical cable they're about to install.
When feeding small diameter electrical wire through walls and floors, the easiest method is using a fish tape. The material of the fish tape is either nylon, steel or fiberglass; each of which has durability and flexibility to push through long, tight spaces and around corners. Greenlee fiberglass fish tape is non-conductive and the most flexible, while steel is the most durable. The fish tape stays coiled up in a handheld, plastic case with handle and dispenses by rotating the case like a wheel. The case itself is durable and will withstand drop impact.
The fish tape will never knot up on the inside and will always dispense tangle-free. With viewing ports on the side of the case, you can see the tape inside and use the ports to get rid of any tiny debris that may have found its way in. Tapes are available in a range of lengths from 65 to 240 feet long. Greenlee also offers 12 to 24-foot fishing poles and 500 to 6500-feet of poly pull line to complement the fish tapes.
Wire installation often includes setting up utility power boxes. In this case, electricians need to punch a hole in the panel box to feed wire through, which will require a punch driver such as a stud punch or knockout punch. Choose from the wide range of Greenlee electrical tools, including Greenlee fishing products and wire installation tools, for your next wiring job.
