The 80PK-8 Type K Thermocouple Pipe Clamp Temperature Probe is designed to reliably measure the temperature of pipes 1/4 in. (6 mm) to 1-3/8 in. (35 mm) in diameter, at temperatures between -29 °C and 149 °C (-20 °F and 300 °F), while retaining a long service life.

This item is to expensive to have an issue like that. I would eventually buy another if this was corrected. Fluke products have always been top notch in my eyes other than this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It Will Break. Works great for about 3 months, then the wires start to become loose, or the ribbon will split. It broke the first time within 6 months Fluke replaced it now its about 8 months later and it is almost unusable. It is a very accurate product but not durable enough.
