Festool Planer Blades
As with all Festool power tool blades, including saw blades and domino cutters, the cutting surfaces of planer blades are precision-milled of high-strength material. All blade teeth are manufactured from either solid carbide or alloyed high-speed steel. The blades are attached to machine-balanced aluminum barrel heads that are mounted to the planer. When replacement cutter blades are required, they attach to the heads with 3 screws. When the screws are tightened, the blades align themselves automatically. The cutter blades consist of standard wood-smoothing blades to make surfaces even. They also consist of planer spiral blades that attach to undulating or coarse planer heads to create a textured finish on wood surfaces, whether scalloped, lightly or heavily distressed or rough-hewn.
Festool planer blades are one component of several lines of Festool accessories that provide systematic support for Festool power tools. These accessories include guides and fences to steer power cutting tools along work pieces. Other accessories include tool stands to provide mobile support for mounting power tools and clamping workpieces, bits for masonry drilling and router work and materials for joinery and edge-banding. Planer replacement cutter blades are part of the family of power-tool blades that include more widely used jigsaw and circular saw blades. Other Festool blades are more specialized, such as domino cutters and multi-functional oscillating saw blades. The blades and other accessories that go with the power tools are not merely attachments. Their high-quality design and engineering complement the exacting manufacturing standards of the power tools that use them to do their work. This symmetry between tools and components is what makes Festool equipment worthy of a better look at what it can do for project efficiency and success.
