Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool at a great price! I purchased my dremel 4200-8-64 a few months ago and I have only used it a couple of times, so far. It's the perfect tool to get into tight places for sanding, cutting, grinding or whatever. I have a ton of things to use it for, my only problem is finding the time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Love this tool...when it worked I received this Dremel as a gift during school and never had the time to use it. Well now that I'm graduated and have a baby on the way I brought it out about 3 months ago to help me sand the details of the baby's dresser and it was a dream. Unfortunately in the middle of the project it's just stopped working. I researched online to see if it was something simple and all I could find is a pressure point to press down because of a manufacturers defect. But no luck...now I have a corded paperweight and a baby dresser half done with a baby in 65 days. Want to love this tool but you could see my frustration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What can't it do?!? I got this a few months ago and have been able to use it for various jobs like sanding wood and removing rust on a bench I was resurfacing. It took about 1/4 of the time ro do thanks to this tool. I am also using it for small tasks as I build my own bar. Amazing tool

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Results so far This set was purchased for me as a gift at the beginning of June and since then I've used it a good bit. I haven't had a chance to use all the attachments yet but have used the 225, 550, 575, and A577. The largest detractor of the system is the difficulty it has cutting longer sections of threaded rod. The 575 makes this easier but after ~20 minutes of on-off use it can get pretty warm. So much so that I'm considering opening it up and adding a bit more grease. The 225 flex works great and is especially useful when doing any kind of carving. The A577, while straight forward enough, is another nice addon and one I use almost constantly. I find the pencil grip method easiest to work with thus far and the A577 makes this method usable without causing hand strain and fatigue. Now for the case. I was a little disappointed with the build quality of the case. The blue plastic is only a very thin layer, I was expecting a thicker, more rugged, outer shell. The accessory draw is a bit skewed latterally with the left side sticking out slightly further than the right. And lastly, the foam cutout for the actual 4200 under the lid doesn't match the sillouette of the tool and flex shaft attachment as well as I'd have liked. I'm planning on buying some like density foam and making a better one later on. As for tool reliability: There are a good number of reviews on here with 1 star and complaints about the motor's reliability. I don't know if these folks just had bad units, unknowingly bought repackaged returns, or just didn't handle them properly. Before first use I read the user's guide and ran the unit at full speed for the specified duration checking the brushes both before and after the instructed run. I also use the air compressor and blow out the motor unit and accessories after each session. So far I haven't had any issues with this tool or it's attachments and have even bought more engraving bits and EZ409 wheels. Obviously I didn't feel the minor flaws I noted above warrented the subraction of a star. Mainly because while these things exist they don't impact the quality of the tool itself or impede workflow. If you're in the market for a rotary and have the cash to go all in from the start I'd recommend this kit. It has all the most commonly needed bits and the ones you may need that aren't included are attained easily enough.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from one more dremel tool down the drain I am a big fan of the concept of dremel. Owning several Dremel products, I was excited when the 4200 came out. I have, with the assistance of the other products I own (namely the Moto-Saw) completed a total of 5 projects. Well yesterday, I break out the 4200 after a few months of not being used so I can work on a new project and my 4200 doesn't work. It starts, but then it just died. Almost seems like the motor froze/seized up. Was hoping to get more out of this, but I didn't. Kind of disappointing when you realize how much you spend on a product only to have to get a few uses out of it.
