Customer Reviews
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Binding and burning I was excited to see this product in my local hardware store because it is just what I needed to cut 5mm plywood from a small boat hull. Since 5mm is <1/4", I didn't think there would be a problem. Although it cuts, I can't make a cut without the wood burning and needing to make multiple passes. The blade binds so quickly (at high speed) that I have to try and run the same cut line multiple times. In addition, it is difficult to see where the blade is cutting under the shield. It is easy to over and undershoot the ends of a cut because you are guessing where your blade actually is. I hope that Dremel improves this or makes better blades available.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs a washer... After reading the other reviews, I checked to see if I had the 'spin' problem with this attachment and my 4000. I did. However, I was able to construct a small washer that fixed the problem. Dremel could have done a better job sizing the connector. I am mildly disappointed by how shallow the cut is, but I understand that there has to be a limit. I look forward to using this attachment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent mini rip saw I've had this product several years and the only problem I've ever had with it is binding but if I pay close attention to grain orientation and make sure I'm cutting straight all is well. A great tool if used for the appropriate job.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One of the worst tools I've ever owned I thought I could cut balsa and thin hobby plywood with this like a circular saw in construction. Have yet to be able to figure out how to use it, and there's no how-to documentation or support (I wrote). The plastic head rotates around the axis and makes the whole tool want to rotate backwards while being used. The blade guard has so much tension it's impossible to force it over the edge of a piece unless you use two hands and push hard. Once going it wants to stop and bind and I don't know what's stopping it. Not the 1/16 ply. I even tried putting the tool in a vice and using it like a table saw. I know how to use tools, but this one is beyond me. Nice gift for your worst enemy. To be fair, I did write about my problems and the retailer was willing to give me a full refund even though I had used the item. I declined thinking I could figure out. I couldn't.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from sometimes a very useful tool. but not perfect. I have had this tool for a while. When it is useful it is great. You do need to tighten it onto the tool. The two things it could use are a marker for the cut centerline and a depth of cut limiting mechanism.. It us tricky to use it with a straight edge for cuts since the guard projects below the housing. Just need thicker guide. My biggest problem is that I lost the manual and it is not available online.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Item This saw is great and works perfect for my projects. Would also be nive if the saw blades were diamond tipped too... But I would recommend this to anyone to use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from something is wrong Extremely disappointed. I dont not use heavy power tools. Like a table saw etc... I love my dremel, however I purchased the Dremel mini- saw attachment 670. and like others mine spins also. I realize it needs to move some but mine spins so much that it spun 180 degree and my blade was face up and my speed control (on/off) switch was still facing up. I have installed and reinstalled attachment to ensure it is correct and it is. If I contiune to use I will end up cutting myself. PLEASE HELP I HAVE DEADLINES

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this attachment! I've had this for years and it works great. I don't have any of the problems that the other users are complaining about, and to be honest some sound like clear cases of user error. This makes thin clean cuts, and doesn't tear up the edge too bad. My only complaint is it doesn't cut very deep - I'd love to see one with a bigger wheel!
