Customer Reviews
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Motor Seems to Have Died The Dremel worked great. Then out of nowhere it stopped working when I wasn't even using it. Now it won't turn on at all. I would see if there is a more reliable unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dead After Two Projects I would rate this lower than one if I could. I recently elected to replace my 30 year old Dremel tool so I purchased the 4200 rotary tool about a year ago. It is dying after the second project. I cannot express how disappointed in the quality of the 4200 after the longevity of my original Dremel. The tool appears to have suffered a bearing failure and is excessively loud and also "freezes up" while running under load. I have looked at the repair chart and the cost for repair is nearly what I paid for the tool. I would not recommend this tool to anyone not experienced enough to perform internal component repairs themselves.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Excited I was very excited about the new ez change feature. I saw it for the first time last night. I purchased the 4200 and could not wait to get home and use it. I get home and open the box and as per my history with Dremel everything was awesome! I read the manual and see they recommend that I run the 4200 for 5 minutes at full power under no load. I do that then I get to work. I worked for 15 minutes and it stopped and won't turn back on. Disappointment. I hope that the one that replacesays this one is better.....stay tuned

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a good design First, will the EZ change lever have enough grip on the accessory tools in the long run? Nobody knows. Second, it is easy to change accessory tools, but it is difficult to change collet. So, in my opinion, 4000 is better than 4200. 4000 has same amp rating as 4200. And the 4000's traditional collet/chuck mechanism is much more reliable than 4200's EZ change.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed on me I've used this tool about 20 times and today it just stopped working. I was using the 90 degree attachment to cut baseboards for installing the rest of my wood flooring. This blows!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lasting ability I bought a Dremel 18 years ago still works. Use it in my wood shop, use it for cleaning silver, loaned it to plumbers working in my house, Use it for a lot of things. Bought another to have on hand, have not touched it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice tool I bought the 4200 kit for my wife for Christmas, she has not used it very much so now I inherited it for in my workshop. never had a Dremel before, but I found this to be a very powerful and compact tool. Have used it to drill glass, and hardened steel water pump bolts on my truck and finally to adjust both my wife's and my partials to make them fit more comfortable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Tool I purchased the 4200 on 8/25/16, it worked for about 30 minutes. I replaced it with another 4200 and after 2 uses in one day it stopped working. Both instances I was doing detailed sanding on a furniture restoration project. I am returning to place of purchase for a refund. Very disappointed, my first dremel a moto tool 370 lasted me, 25-30 yrs. They dont make tools like that anymore!
