Features

Rely on the versatility and functionality of the DEWALT® 20-Inch Variable-Speed Scroll Saw for woodworking that requires intricate cuts with different size workpieces. The DEWALT scroll saw has a 20-inch radius capacity and can handle pieces up to 2 inches thick. The table can be beveled to 45 degrees. The upward-pivoting arm of the 20-inch scroll saw can be positioned to insert the blade for interior cuts, and it remains level when lowered to keep the blade aligned with the workpiece. The saw has a variable-speed range of between 400 and 1,750 strokes per minute for delicate or rugged work. The DEWALT 20-inch variable-speed scroll saw also operates with twin parallel-link arms that soften movement and sound. Blades can be changed without tools, and controls for power, variable speed, dust blower and blade tensioner are co-located on the front arm. The DEWALT variable-speed scroll saw can work with DEWALT's scroll saw stand and work light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great scroll saw, smooth operation This is a very nice scroll saw. It's operation is very smooth just make sure to get some good blades. Setup and adjustment was easy. I would recommend getting a adding a 3rd party lift to hold the arm up when you are moving the blade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Saw I previously used an older Craftsman scroll saw and after using the Dewalt DW788 it was like driving an old beater and then buying a brand new car off the lot with all the features. Definitely an upgrade worth considering for any woodshop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very reliable I have my DW780 for over a year now and use it 3 days a week on average for at least 2 hours a day. It has not given me a bit of trouble. I would highly recommend this product to new users to scroll sawing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best design out there! I have had this saw for well over ten years now and I think its design is still tops the rest. The cast iron top makes this a very stable platform, so I did not get the stand as I put it in a cabinet when I am not using it. This saw is very quiet and has minimal vibration. The actual work area is well thought out allowing for plenty of room to maneuver larger pieces around, an adjustable arm to hold down your piece near the blade, and a very adjustable air hose that gently blows the dust out of your line of sight. Great saw!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth, quiet, and accurate I've had this scroll saw (with light and stand) since July 2016, and I've completed several projects with it. It's very smooth and quiet with little vibration (much less than competing products) thanks to its design, which limits the majority of the motion to the little arms holding the blade. It makes accurate cuts and fine detail work is a breeze. The relatively large table is a big help for maneuvering larger items, especially for the detail work around the edges. My one complaint is that the upper arm isn't on a spring, so if you're doing work that requires frequent threading of the blade through a new pilot hole the arm needs to be held out of the way. However, that's a small gripe for an otherwise outstanding product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite tool Out of all the power tools I own, this one is my favorite. Large base allows me to work on large projects. Does not shake, easy to replace blades. I recommend purchasing the base and lamp,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It can't be beat For the price and features, the DW788 can't be beat. I've had it for over a year now and I still love it. I was using a cheap scroll saw and when I got the DeWalt, it was like a night and day difference. The big, cast iron top provides a really solid service to move pieces around on. Changing blades is quick and painless as well. And it's such a solid machine that I haven't even had to bolt it down to the stand I built. It stays right where it is! If you're looking to get into scroll sawing, I can't recommend this saw enough.
